OUR STORY

His Story

Written by Mariann Kessenich (mother of the groom)

Daniel David Kessenich

Hometown: Green Bay, WI

Daniel is the last child to be born into the David/Mariann Kessenich family on October 14, 1983. That said, he was the perfect twin for his brother Paul.

He has always been a source of humor, giving, Godly sensitivity, and dedication to everyone and everything he deemed "Daniel worthy".

A good work ethic has always been part of Daniel's life. Whether that be in the many swim lessons, meets, or teaching the team as assistant pro for UWRF: finishing his Bachelors degree in 4 years: running a successful lawn business for 18 years or traveling the world on scuba diving adventures. I guess you could say, Daniel loves to work hard and play even harder.

He now looks forward to the most "Daniel worthy" adventure ever .. an adventure that will have him muster all the humor, giving, Godly sensitivity and dedication he will ever know. An adventure where working hard and playing even harder will be a call of a lifetime... that of being the husband of lovely Anna.

Her Story

Written by Juliann Hunter (mother of the bride)

Anna Melissa Hunter

Hometown: Mound, MN

Our darling, Anna, was born on February 9th, 1987.  A beautiful ginger, who was a Daddy’s girl the minute she heard his voice.  Being the feisty redhead, she keeps her Dad on his toes with strong debates but shares his faith in God our Father.

Anna is the third of seven children, three years younger than her sister and three years older than her brother.  She found a purpose when her younger siblings were born but had to be constantly reminded that I was the mother, as she loved “mothering” them.  Anna’s strong sense of family shows as she stays involved in her siblings’ lives.

Anna was involved in so many things as a young girl.  She helped with a kindergarten class most of her school years, was in drama, Madd Jazz ensemble, concert choir, and competition cheerleading (as the “flier”).

As I look back, I see that Anna embraced everything she has set her mind to.  I enjoy watching her grow daily and how she touches many people’s lives with her encouragement, enthusiasm, and creativity.

Most exciting, is to see her growth in faith.  It is no surprise to us that her future husband, Daniel, has strong faith as well.  It is with that knowledge that we know the two of them have a solid foundation on which to base their marriage.

Our Story

Though Daniel and Anna both attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, they didn't meet eachother until many years later.  Daniel was on the Cross Country Team and Anna was friends with many Cross Country runners.  Even after they both moved and began successful careers, they maintained strong friendships established in their undergraduate experience.  A mutual friend invited people to spend Easter Eve (2013) together in Minneapolis, MN.  Anna arrived first and as she mingled with close friends, she couldn't help but notice Daniel walk in soon thereafter.  Anna knew she had to introduce herself and decided to make up an excuse to walk in his direction.  In a few minutes, they found themselves talking and laughing.  At this point, Daniel knew that he wanted to learn more.  They spent the evening socializing and dancing among friends and easily decided they would see eachother again.  Daniel planned their first date 5 days later.  They enjoyed downtown Hudson, WI hand-in-hand window shopping, dining, and eating dark chocolate as the sun set.

Since the first few days, Anna and Daniel have enjoyed sharing in eachother's hobbies, traveling and growing together.  They never stop challenging eachother to set goals and encouraging one another to strive for the best.  They remain grounded in faith and guided by prayer.  They have given eachother neverending support, unconditional love and everlasting memories.

This Easter (April 20, 2014), they took advantage of the beautiful weather by putting 140 miles on the motorcycle, beginning with church, then a walk in the park.  Next, they rode to spend the evening with Anna's immediate family. After turkey dinner, playing with baby goats, dirt bike riding, and Easter games, Daniel shared that one thing he has learned about Anna is how much she values her family.  Anna didn't know what was about to happen until Daniel pushed his chair aside to make room for his proposal.

With Anna's family witnessing this unforgettable moment, she managed to say "yes" amidst the tears of joy!

They are now happily engaged and looking forward to sharing their celebration of marriage with their closest friends and family.
